HUET METAL modernises laser cutting to increase production capacity

HUET METAL was founded by Mr. Huet Sr. as a sheet metal business for the construction sector, including punching operations. Over time, the company expanded its activities and focused on subcontracted cutting services, which are now its core business under the leadership of Mr. Huet Jr.

The generational transition aims to preserve the company’s traditional expertise while strengthening its industrial competitiveness through targeted technology investments.

Objectives: Productivity, capacity and market diversification
The company sought to modernise its fiber laser cutting equipment to increase production speed, improve overall performance and access new markets. Another objective was to increase production capacity with the same workforce, optimising costs and operational flexibility.

Solution selection: ByCut Smart 4020 with MixGas option
In summer 2024, HUET METAL conducted a comprehensive evaluation of several laser cutting machine manufacturers. Following this assessment, the ByCut Smart 4020 – 10 kW system equipped with the MixGas option was selected.

The solution was chosen for its higher power compared with the previous equipment, advanced technology and Bystronic’s comprehensive offering, including technical support and project assistance.

The ByCut Smart 4020 increases cutting speed and production capacity while maintaining consistent quality on complex parts. The MixGas option optimises the cutting process by adapting the cutting gas to different materials and applications, contributing to improved edge quality and reduced operating costs.

Deployment and industrial support

During commissioning, Richard Lochet, Sales Engineer North-West at Bystronic France, presented Corentin Huet with the traditional Swiss bell engraved with the company’s name, symbolising this new industrial milestone.
