NSK Europe appoints new Senior Director for HR, Legal & Compliance

Johannes Bornmueller is the new Senior Director for HR, Legal & Compliance at NSK. With over 20 years of experience, Bornmueller previously held senior HR positions at international technology companies in sectors that include automotive and chemical.

NSK in load ratings breakthrough

In a world first, NSK has introduced a new method of accurately predicting the lifespan of rolling bearings based on their size and the amount of non-metallic inclusions in the steel the bearings are made from. Going forward, NSK’s Angular Contact Ball Bearings, Cylindrical Roller Bearings, Deep Groove Ball Bearings and Tapered Roller Bearings will all see their lifespans increased, potentially even doubled, by this optimisation of basic dynamic load ratings.

NSK releases new low-particle-emission bearing for servomotors

NSK is introducing a high-performance bearing for servomotors that reduces the emission of particles such as grease and oil. This breakthrough development will contribute to the stable operation of vital industry machines such as robots.

New owners for Neuweg Fertigung GmbH

NSK has announced the sale of Neuweg Fertigung GmbH, its German subsidiary based in Munderkingen, to British investor Stephen Lord and existing employees Willi Castro Santanella and Dominik Szell. The sale will take effect from 1 September 2024. The Munderkingen plant, which specialises in the production of small quantities of high-quality rolling bearings, will be run independently but will continue to work with NSK.

NSK develops grease degradation diagnosis technology for on-site use

NSK is developing a world-first: a high-accuracy way of rapidly and accurately diagnosing the remaining life of lubricant grease. The company will provide the solution as a mobile app, enabling users to perform the on-site analysis of lubricant condition in bearings and linear motion systems. This innovative capability will reduce the need for grease inspection and replenishment costs, and help companies implement condition-based maintenance strategies. NSK’s is currently seeking customer input and feedback ahead of launching its new app.
