SCHUNK is a global leader in toolholding and workholding, gripping technology, and automation technology. Their extensive product range includes gripping systems, automation components, toolholding systems, and workholding solutions, catering to industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, and life sciences. SCHUNK emphasizes innovation, precision, and reliability, offering advanced solutions like electric grippers, magnetic grippers, and adhesive grippers to enhance manufacturing efficiency. With approximately 3,700 employees across 8 plants and 34 subsidiaries in over 50 countries, SCHUNK provides comprehensive support and services to its global clientele.
The who's who of the industry will meet at AMB from September 13 to 17, 2022 at Messe Stuttgart. SCHUNK is also part of the community that is burning with passion and commitment for metalworking. After a long hiatus, this community is finally coming together again in person. The technology leader will be showcasing automation and digitalization options for machining as well as new developments in the field of sustainable, resource-efficient clamping devices.
Digitalization has reached the machine tool. The new iTENDO² contributed its shares to this. The smart toolholder provides real-time data directly "closest to the part" and helps to quickly introduce optimal machining processes. The German Design Council has now honored this SCHUNK innovation with the German Innovation Award 2022.
The flexible jaw quick-change chuck manages a balancing act between short set-up times and low maintenance. Its overall package of functional design, flexibility, and sustainability also convinced the jury of the iF Design Award 2022.
Always one step ahead: SCHUNK was the first company to launch clamping force blocks on the market. The TANDEM3 modular system continues this success story: The new series replaces the existing TANDEM-plus modular system and expands the portfolio with numerous variants. SCHUNK offers more solutions and services for workpiece clamping in its standard range than any other company and paves the way for their use in automated machine loading.
Milling, countersinking or micro-cutting ─ the intelligent iTENDO toolholder has already proven its merit in a number of applications. Now its successor is being launched on the market: the iTENDO2 is more compact, more powerful and offers significantly more possibilities for applications.
Walking from booth to booth, talking to experts, touching products and seeing them in action. All of this will be possible again at EMO in Milan. The leading trade show for metalworking is offering the opportunity of an international industry event from October 4 to 9, 2021. SCHUNK will be there presenting innovative solutions for automated, flexible, and sustainable manufacturing. The highlight of process digitalization: the even more powerful iTENDO² smart toolholder.
With a versatile range of automation components for demanding applications, SCHUNK will be attending this year's Automatica, which will take place as a purely digital event, the "automatica sprint", from June 22 to 24, 2021.
SCHUNK has again increased its gripper fingers program, and they can be exchanged more rapidly now: whereas the proven SCHUNK BSWS jaw quick-change system required an Allen key for operation, however, the new manual BSWS-M system only requires the push of a button to mechanically unlock the top jaw and pull away from the gripper.
Innovative, ergonomic, quickly put into operation: The intelligent design of the SCHUNK EGH makes automation with cobots especially easy, and this is the reason why the gripper was awarded with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2021 in the ”product design“ category.
Surfaces are machined by grinding and polishing. With coarse material removal as a post-processing operation, for further machining, or fine machining, sensitivity and precise readjustment are required to achieve the perfect workpiece finish.
