Walter completes the DX18 parting and grooving program

With the introduction of the G4014 lathe holder with SmartLock, Walter has already reduced cutting insert changing times for long and multi-spindle lathes by up to 70 percent.

Walter completes the DX18 parting and grooving program

Now the Tübingen-based company is expanding its DX18 parting and grooving program: As with the G4014, Walter also uses the double-edged DX18 cutting inserts with Walter's own form-fit design for the newly added G4041 deep grooving blades and G4011 monoblock shank tools (each with and without precision cooling). This reliably prevents the plates from moving to the side in the insert seat and thus increases the changing accuracy, stability and process reliability.

Together with the increased chip shoulder, which improves chip evacuation, this enables higher feed rates. This in turn leads to longer service lives of the cutting insert and holder. Including deep grooving blades G4041-P and all-purpose Walter Capto tools G4011-P, the Walter range now includes grooving widths of 2 to 4 mm and grooving depths of up to 10 mm or up to 17.5 mm. Walter mentions all machining operations from parting off and grooving with a straight groove bottom to universal use in groove turning and dynamic groove turning as potential areas of application. Users in all industries can benefit from the high process reliability of the form-fitting DX18 cutting inserts across all tools, as well as from the higher productivity due to improved chip breaking.
