Industrial metal finishing focuses on function and appearance

Industrial metal finishing takes a variety of forms when it comes to fulfilling project requirements. Robinson delivers high-quality welding, grinding, blasting, painting and other finishing services while providing full in-house expertise to complete virtually any project.

Weld specifications can include a wide range of industrial metal finishing options. We work with customers to determine the best relationship between specific industrial metal finishing requirements and associated costs, with the understanding that appearance may drive the final decision.

Our AWS-certified welders and industrial metal finishing team have the skills to complete a full range of services on a variety of materials, often meeting high-end tolerances. Varying levels of craftsmanship are often required for as-welded finishes, ground smooth welds, all the way to finely polished finishes that produce an attractive and highly functional smooth transition between the weld and surrounding metal.

Welds on stainless steel often require additional industrial metal finishing attention, with a solvent and color cleaning process needed to eliminate the burnt appearance and return the surface to an all-silver look.

Coatings provide a protection option with industrial metal finishing
Robinson’s coatings capabilities include wet and powder coat painting as final metal finishing options. Sun, sea air and other environmental issues can impact metal over time. We apply coatings that help protect your valuable metal assets from Mother Nature’s harshest conditions, extending their lifespans and enhancing overall value.

Powder coating provides exceptional industrial metal finishing results. We use an enhanced two-step system that features a zinc-rich primer, followed by a powder coating layer and a baking process to lock in the color. This results in thousands of hours of protection that many single-step processes simply cannot match.

Robinson’s facilities are home to one of the largest industrial paint shops in the Midwest, delivering capabilities not found in most metal fabrication businesses. We brought our powder coating capabilities in-house in 2020 and expanded capacity in 2021 to meet increasing demand.

Robinson’s full-service capabilities generate a variety of fabrication jobs in northeast Wisconsin. Our customers benefit from this deep talent pool through our ability to complete projects from start to finish.
