Okuma to exhibit spectacular machinery at EMO Milano 2021.

“FEEL THE MAGIC OF OKUMA”: TURNING, MILLING, GRINDING, MACHINING

Okuma is turning EMO Milano 2021 into an accessible machine fleet: in a world and European première featuring the new “Long Tool Stocker” for the reliable use of long tools and various additional machines, the European representative of the leading manufacturer of CNC machinery is to present its high-precision and reliable solutions for turning, milling, grinding and machining at the 574 m² stand. EMO Milano will take place from 4 to 9 October 2021 at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre in Milan

“Okuma’s announcement of the world début for the MA-600HIII and the first live demonstration of the MB-80V in Europe at EMO Milano 2021 has stirred up a great deal of customer interest. Now, the company is providing additional glimpses into the trade fair, which promises big things under the motto “Feel the Magic of Okuma”. “We are planning to bring an additional five machines that truly do provide a high-precision and efficient solution for everything from turning to milling, grinding and machining,” states Norbert Teeuwen, Managing Director of Okuma Europe GmbH.

In hall 7, at stand E04 F03, Okuma is taking advantage of the entire 574 m² available to set up a machine fleet of its own. Among other things, visitors will be able to view the MU-6300V-L universal centre. It combines turning and 5-axis multitasking machining and enables process-intensive machining and high-speed and high-precision heavy machining thanks to the gantry structure. Consistent machining is therefore ensured from the first to the last part.

Greater efficiency thanks to automation
The GENOS M560V-e vertical machining centre together with Okuma’s own STANDROID automation solution achieves extremely high levels of workpiece accuracy in heavy machining and precision machining. This is ensured, among other things, through thermal stability that maintains the tightest tolerances. When it comes to the MULTUS B250II ARMROID turning and milling machine, the focus is on automation: it enables complex complete machining at high speed and increases efficiency thanks to the integrated ARMROID robot system. Optimal utilisation and dimensional stability are also facilitated by the standard Collision Avoidance System (CAS) and Thermo-Friendly Concept – even in the event of fluctuating ambient temperatures.

The MULTUS U5000 milling and turning centre designed as a moving column machine, boasts impressive stability, precision and a compact milling spindle during process-intensive 5-axis complete machining in any batch size. The counter spindle and optional lower turret make simultaneous and synchronous machining possible. The machine equipped with the “Long Tool Stocker” will be presented for the first time at EMO Milano 2021. An additional, linear tool magazine above the tailstock stores three tools up to a diameter of 60 mm, with a length of 600 mm and a maximum weight of 16 kg. The latest generation of the OSP control system and 19-inch touchscreen with ergonomically optimised control panel ensures optimal ease-of-use.

Okuma also has the right solution for external grinding: the GP26W grinder with cross slide design combines minimal surfaces with the largest possible workspace for workpieces with a grinding diameter of 200 mm with a distance of up to 400 mm between centres. Workpieces are machined especially quickly and precisely with the Okuma hydrodynamic spindle that features a concentricity of 0.01 µm at a grinding speed of up to 60 m/s. To ensure maximum flexibility throughout, it is possible to travel to freely programmable positions using the NC tailstock. Dimensional tolerance is guaranteed from the very first component with the Marposs In-Process measuring gauge.
