AEC has been appointed as an official U.S. sales and integration partner for Meltio, strengthening the distribution, system integration and technical support of Meltio’s metal additive manufacturing solutions across the United States.
The agreement positions AEC as both a commercial and technical partner, responsible for integrating Meltio’s wire-laser metal 3D printing systems into automated, production-ready environments. The collaboration aims to expand Meltio’s footprint in the U.S. by building a robust industrial ecosystem involving machine tool builders, robotic integrators, technology centers, academic institutions and end users.
Expanding production-ready metal AM
Meltio’s technology is built around welding wire as feedstock, enabling a safer, cleaner and more cost-effective alternative to powder-based systems. Its blue-laser, wire-fed metal deposition process supports high-deposition, near-net-shape manufacturing, repair and hybrid production applications.
By combining Meltio’s additive platform with AEC’s experience in robotic welding and turnkey automation systems, the partnership targets manufacturers seeking practical, scalable metal AM solutions for real-world industrial environments.
According to Bobby Larmer, CEO of AEC, the collaboration aligns with the company’s mission to deliver engineered solutions that enhance flexibility, performance and return on investment for customers. The welding-wire-based process, he noted, offers a strong fit for manufacturers looking to transition toward additive-enabled production without compromising operational efficiency.
Strategic U.S. growth in demanding sectors
From Meltio’s perspective, the partnership represents a strategic move to deepen its presence in the U.S. market. The company’s systems are already deployed in industrial production settings across sectors such as oil & gas, energy and heavy industry, where reliability and scalability are critical.
Gabriel Ortiz, Americas Channel Manager at Meltio, emphasized that U.S. manufacturers increasingly require additive technologies that are production-ready and capable of delivering measurable efficiency gains. Through the collaboration with AEC, Meltio intends to extend access to its wire-laser metal additive solutions, helping companies reduce lead times, optimize material usage and improve operational performance.
With additive manufacturing continuing to evolve from prototyping to full-scale production, the AEC–Meltio partnership is positioned to accelerate the adoption of integrated, automation-driven metal AM solutions across the U.S. industrial landscape.
